Terry McLaurin Carted Off with Potential Significant Knee Injury
Terry McLaurin, a wide receiver for the Washington Commanders, was carted off the field on Monday after suffering a left knee injury during a game against the San Francisco 49ers in Santa Clara, California.
Coach Dan Quinn expressed concern about the injury, indicating that further testing on Tuesday might reveal a serious issue. McLaurin sustained the injury while running a pass route late in the first quarter, falling to the ground with minimal contact and immediately reaching for his knee. He was later fitted with an air cast before being taken off the field.
In the game, McLaurin recorded one catch for 27 yards, contributing to a field goal. This season, he has made 15 receptions for 230 yards and one touchdown across five games. Previously, he missed a game against the Indianapolis Colts due to a hamstring injury but returned to play against the New York Giants. McLaurin, in his eighth NFL season, has a total of 513 receptions for 7,191 yards and 42 touchdowns in his career.
