Terry McLaurin Out for Season with Knee Injury
Terry McLaurin, a wide receiver for the Washington Commanders, has been ruled out for the season following a knee injury sustained during a game against the San Francisco 49ers. The injury occurred late in the first quarter of the match, which ended in a 23-17 loss for Washington.
Head coach Dan Quinn confirmed that McLaurin tore the patellar tendon in his left knee and will require surgery. McLaurin has been a key player for the Commanders, leading the team in receiving yards this season and having a significant impact since being drafted in 2024.
With McLaurin sidelined, the Commanders will need to adjust their offensive strategy. Although the team has added depth to its receiving corps, including Stefon Diggs and rookie Antonio Williams, neither player provides the same vertical threat as McLaurin. As a result, the Commanders may rely more on their ground game, where they currently rank 10th in the NFL.
