Tetsuya Naito Claims GHC Heavyweight Championship

Tetsuya Naito has won the GHC Heavyweight Championship after defeating Shane Haste at Pro Wrestling NOAH's Legacy Rise event on August 9, 2026, held at Korakuen Hall.

This victory marks Naito as the 51st champion in the title's history and the 28th wrestler to hold the title. Haste's reign concluded after 99 days, during which he successfully defended the title three times.

Naito, who has previously held multiple championships in New Japan Pro Wrestling, announced he will not participate in the upcoming N-1 tournament scheduled from September 12 to October 4. He expressed his enjoyment of wrestling in Pro Wrestling NOAH and his commitment to leading the promotion to new heights as the champion.
