Texans Sign Mario Edwards and Sione Takitaki

The Houston Texans have signed defensive lineman Mario Edwards and linebacker Sione Takitaki to enhance their team. Edwards, who was released in March, returned after a visit this past weekend, according to reports.

Last season, Edwards recorded 13 tackles and 1.5 sacks in 14 games before suffering a torn pectoral muscle. He had previously played in 13 games for the Texans in 2024, making 12 starts. Meanwhile, Takitaki, who worked out for the team on Friday, is expected to fill the gap left by Jake Hansen, who is sidelined indefinitely due to an ankle injury. Takitaki played three games for the Vikings last year and has a total of 83 games under his belt with the Browns and Patriots.

The Texans confirmed the signing of Edwards and also announced the waiving of running back Evan Hull and offensive tackle Derrick Graham.
