
Texans Sign Veteran Receivers Sterling Shepard and Zay Jones
The Houston Texans have signed veteran wide receivers Sterling Shepard and Zay Jones after Jayden Higgins was ruled out for the season.
Sterling Shepard, a second-round draft pick in 2016, previously played for the Buccaneers, where he recorded 38 receptions for 371 yards and one touchdown in 2025. He spent the first eight years of his career with the Giants, accumulating 443 catches for 4,800 yards and 25 touchdowns over 90 games.
Zay Jones, selected in the second round of the 2017 draft, played for the Cardinals in the last two seasons, making 12 receptions for 183 yards in eight games last year. Throughout his career, he has participated in 123 games, securing 307 catches for 3,295 yards and 18 touchdowns across teams including the Bills, Raiders, Jaguars, and Cardinals. Additionally, the Texans recently worked out Josh Reynolds.
