Texans Trade for Kayshon Boutte from Patriots
The Houston Texans have traded for Kayshon Boutte from the New England Patriots to bolster their receiving corps following the injury of Jayden Higgins.
The deal, reported by Tom Pelissero, involves the Texans sending safety Jaylen Reed and a 2028 seventh-round draft pick from the Saints to New England. Boutte, who is in the final year of his rookie contract, was seen as surplus in the Patriots' updated receiving lineup.
Last season, Boutte, a sixth-round pick in 2023, recorded 33 receptions for 551 yards and six touchdowns across 14 games, along with nine catches for 168 yards and one touchdown in the playoffs. Reed, drafted by Houston in 2025, played in seven games as a rookie, primarily on special teams.
