The Blaze triumphed over Essex by nine wickets in the Women's One-Day Cup, securing their place in the final at Queen's Park, Chesterfield. This victory allowed The Blaze to reclaim the top position in the points table after a previous defeat to Hampshire Women.
Essex batted first, scoring 159 runs in 45.4 overs, with Grace Scrivens contributing 70 runs. The Blaze's Kirstie Gordon took 3 wickets for 25 runs, while Kathryn Bryce, Lucy Higham, and Cassidy McCarthy each claimed two wickets. In response, The Blaze chased down the target in just 19.1 overs, led by Sarah Bryce's unbeaten 70 and Kathryn Bryce's 67.
The Blaze, who have already won titles in the Vitality Blast and Vitality T20 County Cup, will face the winner of the upcoming match between Surrey Women and Somerset Women in the One-Day Cup final scheduled for September 19.
