The New Saints Advance to Welsh Cup Third Round

The New Saints triumphed over Airbus Broughton UK with a score of 2-1, advancing to the third round of the 2026/27 Welsh Cup. This match marked the first all-Cymru Premier encounter of the season.

Dan Davies opened the scoring for TNS, but Jordan Evans equalized for Airbus Broughton. A late goal from Dan Williams ensured TNS's progression, avoiding a potential upset. Last season, TNS was eliminated in the third round by Cardiff Met, who also advanced this year after defeating Ynyshir Albions 4-0.

Other Cymru Premier teams moving forward include Connah's Quay Nomads, Cambrian United, and Briton Ferry Llansawel. Connah's Quay won 4-0 against Porthmadog, while Cambrian United secured a 5-0 victory over Trethomas Bluebirds. Briton Ferry Llansawel also had a strong performance, defeating Afan United 5-0 with Luke Bowen scoring a hat-trick.

Further matches in the second round are scheduled for the upcoming weekend.
