The Turks Head in St Helens Shortlisted for National Pub of the Year
The Turks Head, a well-known pub in St Helens, has advanced to the final stage of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) National Pub of the Year award, being one of four pubs shortlisted for this prestigious honor.
This Tudor-style pub, established in the 1870s, has surpassed previous years' efforts by reaching the final four after progressing beyond the regional stage. Licensee Clare Harrison expressed immense pride in representing St Helens at this level, attributing the success to the contributions of the staff, regular patrons, and the broader community.
The Turks Head competes against three other finalists: the Countryman's Inn in North Yorkshire, The Cockpit in Greater London, and The Tamworth Tap in Staffordshire. The pub features a diverse selection of 14 handpulls, real ciders, and an extensive range of craft and continental beers, along with a vibrant atmosphere that hosts live music and community events.
