The Unsolved Murder of Dana Bailey: A Case from 1987

On March 5, 1987, Dana Bailey was discovered dead in her apartment by her mother, having been murdered with a steak knife from her kitchen.

The 21-year-old was a senior at Penn State and had recently returned from visiting her fiancé in Washington, D.C. On the night of her death, she had called in sick to work, stating she was too tired. Her mother found her tied to a chair and blindfolded, with police suspecting a sex-related crime due to the lack of theft.

Investigators believe Bailey was stabbed in bed and later posed, as her body was visible from outside. A suspect was reportedly seen surveilling her apartment prior to the murder.
