Thirteen NBA Teams Have Open Two-Way Contract Spots
Thirteen teams in the NBA are actively seeking to fill open two-way contract spots for the upcoming season. These contracts allow teams to have three additional players beyond their standard 15-man roster, enabling them to alternate between the NBA and G League.
Players on two-way contracts will earn $678,882 for the 2026/27 season and can participate in up to 50 regular season games, unless their team has fewer than 15 players, in which case they can play in a maximum of 90 games. The defending champion Knicks are the only team with multiple openings, while the other 12 teams each have one.
Reports indicate that Carson Cooper is set to sign a two-way deal with the Grizzlies, pending a roster move, while Rafael Castro's expected deal with the Bucks has not yet been finalized, leaving uncertainty about its status. Several unsigned second-round picks could also be in line for two-way contracts, but teams like the Mavericks and Timberwolves would need to make adjustments to their rosters to accommodate new signings.
