Thomas Pannone Achieves Perfect Game in Triple-A

Thomas Pannone, a former pitcher for the Toronto Blue Jays, achieved a perfect game in Triple-A on Monday night while playing for the Nashville Sounds.

Pannone completed the nine-inning game with just 94 pitches, securing a 3-0 victory against the Durham Bulls. This performance included eight strikeouts and marked the first perfect game by a single pitcher in the minor leagues since 2017, as well as the fifth in the history of the International League since its inception in 1884.

At 32 years old, Pannone had previously made one start for the Milwaukee Brewers in July, marking his return to Major League Baseball after three years. He had a total of 49 appearances with the Blue Jays from 2018 to 2019, where he notably took a no-hitter into the seventh inning during his MLB debut. After being designated for assignment by the Blue Jays in 2020, Pannone has played for several teams, including the Brewers, Cubs, Angels, and Yankees, and has also pitched in Korea.
