Thomas Partey Joins Al-Shabab in Saudi Pro League
Al-Shabab, a team in the Saudi Pro League, has announced the signing of Ghana international Thomas Partey.
Partey, who previously played for Arsenal and made 167 appearances for the club from 2020 to 2025, became a free agent after Villarreal chose not to renew his contract. The 33-year-old is currently facing legal issues, including seven charges of rape and one count of sexual assault, with a trial scheduled for next year.
During the recent World Cup, Partey was barred from entering Canada prior to Ghana's match against Panama due to his ongoing legal situation. Despite this, he participated in Ghana's other matches in the tournament, where the team was eliminated in the last 32 by Colombia. Al-Shabab finished 13th in the previous season of the Saudi Pro League and lost their first match of the current season.
