
Three Penn State Women's Soccer Players Recognized with Honors
On Tuesday, three players from the Penn State women's soccer team were recognized with weekly honors. Bella Ayscue earned an Honorable Mention on the Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the Week, while Nikki Crane was named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week, and Mackenzie Gress received the title of Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Week.
The Nittany Lions achieved a strong performance, defeating Bucknell 5-0 and Brown 6-0, improving their season record to 2-1-1. Ayscue contributed significantly with one assist against Bucknell and scored a goal along with another assist against Brown. Crane made an impressive debut with her first career hat trick against Brown, marking only the 26th in the program's history.
Gress played a crucial role in goal, making three saves against Bucknell and two against Brown, while freshman Lily Selvy stepped in during the second half of both matches. The Nittany Lions will next compete against Virginia Tech on Thursday, September 3, at 7 p.m. at Jeffrey Field.
