Thunder Rosa Claims Mexican National Women's Championship at CMLL Event
Thunder Rosa, a dual-contracted star with AEW and CMLL, won the Mexican National Women's Championship on Friday by defeating India Sioux at the CMLL Viernes Espectacular held in Arena Mexico.
Rosa achieved victory with a double stomp followed by the Fire Thunder Driver, ending Sioux's title reign of 511 days, during which she made two successful defenses. Rosa earned her title shot after winning an eight-woman number one contender's match on July 19, where she faced competitors including Olympia and Garra Nega.
While the Mexican National Women's title is associated with CMLL, it is not a promotional title of the company, as clarified by Luchablog. Following her victory, CMLL shared a video of Rosa's win and her emotional celebration, although she has not yet made a personal comment on the achievement.
