Thunder to Sign Ochai Agbaji Amid Injury Challenges
The Oklahoma City Thunder are set to sign free agent swingman Ochai Agbaji to fill an open spot on their 15-man roster, following a series of injuries to key players.
Agbaji, who was the 14th overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, has had a tumultuous career thus far, playing for teams including Utah, Toronto, and Brooklyn. In the 2024/25 season, he averaged 10.4 points and 3.8 rebounds per game with the Raptors, but his performance declined significantly last season, leading to his release from the Nets.
With injuries affecting their wing depth, including the loss of Otega Oweh to an Achilles tear and Jalen Williams to ankle surgery, the Thunder are looking to bolster their roster. Agbaji is expected to receive a non-guaranteed, minimum-salary contract, which will provide the team with more flexibility in managing their roster and potentially allow them to seek additional reinforcements.
