Tiger Woods Accepts Plea Deal in DUI Case, Loses License for Five Years

Tiger Woods altered his plea to guilty during a court appearance in Martin County, Florida, following his DUI arrest in March. This change allowed him to accept a reduced charge of reckless driving and refusal to submit to a lawful test, enabling him to avoid jail time.

As part of the plea deal, Woods will pay a fine and have his driver's license suspended for five years. His arrest stemmed from a rollover crash near his home, where officers noted signs of impairment despite Woods registering a 0.0 on a Breathalyzer test. He declined a urinalysis test, leading to two misdemeanor charges.

Woods has remained largely out of the public eye since the incident, opting to skip the Masters and seek treatment abroad. This incident marks the fourth known car accident for the golfer since 2009, and he has missed the entire PGA Tour season while focusing on recovery and treatment.
