Tiger Woods Loses Driver's License for Five Years Following DUI Plea

Tiger Woods has forfeited his driver's license for five years as part of a plea deal related to a DUI charge. During a brief court hearing on Wednesday at the Martin County Courthouse in Florida, Woods pleaded no contest to charges of willful, wanton, and reckless driving, as well as refusing to submit to a urine test.

As part of the agreement, Woods received two concurrent five-year suspensions of his driver's license and was fined $1,000. The DUI charge stemming from a March incident, where Woods crashed his vehicle on a residential road, was dropped. Judge Darren Steele emphasized that Woods must adhere strictly to the driving ban, warning that any violation could result in immediate jail time.

The incident occurred on March 27 when Woods reportedly clipped a truck and rolled his vehicle while distracted by his phone and radio. Both Woods and the other driver were unharmed. Woods initially pleaded not guilty to the charges but later changed his plea. His attorney, Douglas Duncan, has previously represented him in similar cases.
