Tigers Place Riley Greene on Injured List
The Detroit Tigers have announced that outfielder Riley Greene will be sidelined for at least ten days after being placed on the 10-day injured list due to a right hamstring strain. In his absence, Corey Julks has been called up to join the roster.
Greene left the previous day's game because of hamstring tightness, which poses a challenge for the Tigers as they are currently in a competitive playoff race. Despite trading away key players earlier, the team is just half a game away from a Wild Card spot and 2.5 games behind the White Sox in the Central division.
Julks, who signed a minor league deal with the Tigers in the offseason, has performed well in Triple-A Toledo, boasting a .273 batting average with 15 home runs this season. However, his previous major league experience has not been as successful. To make room for Julks, right-hander Troy Watson has been designated for assignment after not making his major league debut since being added to the 40-man roster.
