Tilak Varma Achieves Milestone in T20I Fielding
Tilak Varma, the vice-captain of the Indian cricket team, reached a significant milestone during the third T20I against the West Indies in Indore. He became the fifth Indian player to achieve 50 catches in T20 internationals.
This accomplishment places him alongside notable fielders such as Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, and Virat Kohli. Varma's 50 catches have come in just 68 matches, resulting in a dismissals-per-innings ratio of 0.757, the highest among Indian players with at least 50 catches in this format.
Despite an unusual run-out incident during the match, where he was dismissed while misjudging a boundary call, Varma's performance contributed to India's victory by 14 runs, giving them a 2-1 lead in the five-match series.
