Tilak Varma's Unusual Run-Out in T20I Against West Indies
In the third T20I match against West Indies, Indian batter Tilak Varma was involved in an unusual run-out caused by a miscommunication with teammate Axar Patel. This incident occurred during the 17th over of the game.
As Gudakesh Motie bowled to Axar, he hit a low full toss towards deep backward square leg. Kamil Pooran dived to stop the ball, and both Varma and Patel mistakenly believed it had crossed the boundary. They completed a single and exchanged a fist bump, unaware that Pooran had successfully prevented the boundary. When Axar realized the ball was still in play, he grounded his bat at the non-striker's end, but Varma continued walking towards his crease. Motie collected the ball and broke the stumps, resulting in Varma's dismissal after scoring 28 runs off 16 balls.
Despite this unusual run-out, India managed to post a total of 223 runs. Abhishek Sharma was the standout performer, scoring 69 runs off 30 balls. India ultimately won the match by 14 runs, taking a 2-1 lead in the five-match series.
