Tim Anderson Retires After Notable MLB Career

Tim Anderson, recognized as one of baseball's most exciting hitters, has announced his retirement following a decade-long career in Major League Baseball.

Anderson, a two-time All-Star and the 2019 American League batting champion, struggled with injuries, appearing in over 100 games only once since 2022. He began his career with a strong performance, finishing seventh in the 2016 Rookie of the Year voting, and achieved a .300 batting average four times.

After being granted free agency by the Chicago White Sox in November 2023, he signed with the Miami Marlins for the 2024 season but was released in July. He played 31 games with the Angels in 2025 before his final release. Anderson's 2019 batting title was the first for the White Sox since Frank Thomas in 1997.
