Timberwolves' Anthony Edwards to Miss Up to Two Months Due to Knee Surgery
The Minnesota Timberwolves will be without star player Anthony Edwards for up to two months following a knee injury. Edwards is scheduled to have an arthroscopic procedure on his right knee, as reported by ESPN's Shams Charania.
Edwards had been performing exceptionally well this season, averaging 33.3 points per game over four games, including two games where he scored over 45 points. He appeared on the injury report prior to the team's recent games, indicating ongoing management of the knee issue.
With Edwards out, LaMelo Ball is expected to step up as the primary scoring option for the Timberwolves. Ball has struggled to find his rhythm, averaging 14.8 points per game. If Edwards returns as anticipated around Christmas, the Timberwolves will have about 50 games left in the season, allowing him time to regain form before the playoffs.
