Timberwolves' Anthony Edwards to Undergo Surgery, Out for Two Months
Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves is set to undergo arthroscopic surgery on his right knee, which will sideline him for approximately two months. This decision follows his participation in 41 minutes of play during a recent overtime loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers, despite already experiencing knee pain early in the season.
In the game against the Cavaliers, Edwards scored 47 points, but team sources indicated that he was not cleared to play until warmups. His injury was evident as he had been limping and frequently grabbing his knee during a previous game against the Toronto Raptors.
The Timberwolves had hoped to manage Edwards' condition conservatively, especially given his history of playing through injuries. While the team has been aggressive in utilizing their star player, they now face the consequences of his extended absence, with hopes that he could return by December if the surgery is successful.
