TNA Announces New X-Division Champion to be Crowned

TNA has revealed plans to crown a new X-Division Champion following Leon Slater's decision to pursue the World title. Slater, who recently won the X-Division Championship from Cedric Alexander, has opted to exercise 'Option C' for a title shot against TNA World Champion Nic Nemeth at the upcoming Bound for Glory event.

The new champion will be determined in a six-man match scheduled for October 11 in Tampa, Florida. Qualifying matches will take place to select the competitors for this bout. The participants for these qualifying matches have not yet been announced.

Slater's title defense at Lockdown included a stipulation that would have erased his record as the youngest X-Division Champion if he had lost. 'Option C' allows the X-Division Champion to relinquish their title in exchange for a chance at the World Championship. Bound for Glory is known as TNA's premier annual event.
