TNPL Player Under Investigation for Anti-Corruption Violation
A player participating in the Tamil Nadu Premier League is currently under scrutiny by the BCCI’s Anti-Corruption Unit due to a violation of anti-corruption regulations.
The player was discovered with a mobile phone in the restricted Players and Match Officials Area during a match at the NPR College ground in Natham, Dindigul, where the league has been ongoing since August 4.
According to regulations, players must deposit their mobile devices with the team manager before entering the restricted area, where only the manager is allowed to carry a phone for cricket-related purposes. The TNCA has received formal communication regarding the incident and has instructed team owners not to select the player until the investigation concludes, as confirmed by TNCA secretary U. Bhagawandas Rao.
