Tom Pidcock Wins Second Cross-Country World Title, Dedicates Victory to Fin Tarling

Tom Pidcock of Great Britain won his second cross-country world title at the Mountain Bike World Championships held in Val di Sole, Italy. Following his victory, Pidcock paid tribute to Fin Tarling, a fellow British cyclist who died in an accident earlier this month during the Volta a Portugal.

Pidcock, a two-time Olympic champion, finished the race 17 seconds ahead of his teammate Charlie Aldridge, who claimed silver. Canadian cyclist Cole Punchard took third place. Pidcock, who entered the competition after finishing ninth in the Tour de France, completed the race in one hour, 25 minutes, and 26 seconds, despite experiencing back pain from a crash during practice.

In other results, Switzerland's Sina Frei won the women's cross-country title, while Great Britain's Evie Richards finished sixth. Richards narrowly missed out on a second elite women's short track world title earlier in the week, finishing second to Austria's Laura Stigger.
