Tommaso Ciampa, who transitioned from WWE to AEW in 2026, has shared his long-term strategy for attaining the AEW World Championship. In a recent appearance on the Battleground Podcast, he detailed his goals for his first year in the promotion.
Ciampa emphasized the importance of becoming a main event player, participating in pay-per-views, and winning titles. He acknowledged the high level of competition within AEW, noting the depth of talent available. He expressed that achieving a significant number of goals in his first year would mark success for him.
He also outlined his preferred approach to reaching the top title, favoring a gradual journey that includes winning various accolades along the way, such as the National title and the Owen Cup. Currently, Will Ospreay holds the AEW World Championship, while Ciampa is a former AEW TNT Champion and has recently been involved in a feud with Chris Jericho.
