Tommy Castellanos Transfers to Texas Tech from Florida State
Quarterback Tommy Castellanos has decided to transfer to Texas Tech after spending a season at Florida State. His transfer was reported by ESPN on Wednesday afternoon.
In the 2025 season, Castellanos achieved 2,760 passing yards, 15 touchdowns, and nine interceptions, along with a passer rating of 143.5. He also rushed for 557 yards and nine touchdowns. Prior to Florida State, he played two seasons at Boston College and one at UCF, accumulating a total of 137.4 passer rating over his collegiate career.
Castellanos joins a Texas Tech team that recently finished a successful 12-2 season, winning the Big 12 and reaching the College Football Playoff. With the departure of starting quarterback Behren Morton to the NFL, Castellanos adds experienced depth to the Red Raiders' quarterback lineup, which also includes junior Will Hammond and senior Kirk Francis.
