Tommy DeVito Moves On from 'Tommy Cutlets' Nickname
Tommy DeVito, the backup quarterback for the New England Patriots, has moved away from his previous nickname 'Tommy Cutlets' to now being called 'Two Chains.' This change was initiated by head coach Mike Vrabel, who noted DeVito's signature gold chains.
DeVito, a New Jersey native, gained popularity among New York Giants fans during the 2023 season, achieving a 3-1 record in his first four starts. His brief fame even inspired local restaurants to create 'Tommy Cutlets' sandwiches. However, after being released by the Giants, he signed a two-year deal with the Patriots in March.
Reflecting on his experience with the Patriots, DeVito expressed that he feels more comfortable this summer compared to the previous year, attributing his growth to the coaching staff and the opportunity to practice with the team. He is expected to serve as the backup quarterback, although significant playing time is unlikely unless injuries occur to the starting quarterback, Drake Maye.
