Tony Rojas of Penn State Football Added to Bednarik Award Watch List

Penn State football linebacker Tony Rojas has been included in the Bednarik Award watch list, as announced by the program on Wednesday.

Rojas joins teammate Jeremiah Cooper, who was named a candidate earlier in August. The Bednarik Award honors the top defensive player in college football and is named after Chuck Bednarik, a former All-American and NFL player.

This season, Rojas has recorded impressive statistics, including 56 total tackles, 10.5 tackles-for-loss, five sacks, four pass deflections, two interceptions, and a forced fumble over seven games. He is the only FBS player this season with over 10.5 tackles for loss and two or more interceptions. Rojas has also received nominations for several other awards, with semifinalists for the Bednarik Award set to be announced on November 10.
