Tony Rojas of Penn State Football Named to Hispanic College Football Player of the Year Watch List

Penn State linebacker Tony Rojas has been included in the Hispanic College Football Player of the Year watch list, as announced by the Hispanic Football Hall of Fame on Thursday. This marks Rojas' second consecutive year receiving this recognition.

The award, which honors the top college football player of Hispanic descent, was first awarded in 2025 to former Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza. The HFHOF, founded by NFL legends Ron Rivera and Anthony Muñoz, aims to celebrate Hispanic contributions to football.

Rojas, who was a key player for the Nittany Lions before suffering a season-ending injury in 2025, opted to remain with the team despite transfer rumors. He was the second-leading tackler prior to his injury and is expected to play a crucial role in the team's defense for the upcoming season. He is also on watch lists for the Lott IMPACT Trophy and the Comeback Player of the Year Award.
