Tony Romo Faces Additional Citations Following Recent Arrest

Tony Romo is facing three additional citations linked to his arrest last month, which resulted in his leave from CBS as the lead analyst for NFL coverage.

Romo was arrested on July 23 in Wisconsin on suspicion of driving under the influence. The charges were updated to include citations for possessing open intoxicants in a vehicle, unsafe passing, and first-offense operating while intoxicated, in addition to a prior citation for refusing a sobriety test.

In Romo's absence, analyst JJ Watt will join Jim Nantz and Tracy Wolfson on CBS Sports’ lead NFL team. Their first game together is scheduled for September 13, featuring the Minnesota Vikings against the Green Bay Packers. Romo's arrest occurred after a traffic stop on Interstate 43, where he reportedly performed poorly on sobriety tests. A spokesperson stated that Romo is taking responsibility for the incident and is working with authorities to resolve the matter.
