Toronto Maple Leafs Injury Updates: Marchenko Week-to-Week, Tanev Day-to-Day
The Toronto Maple Leafs have announced updates regarding several players on their injury list, highlighting the ongoing challenges the team faces. Star winger Kirill Marchenko, who sustained a lower-body injury during a recent game against the Calgary Flames, is now listed as week-to-week.
Marchenko, acquired from the Columbus Blue Jackets prior to the season, has been performing well, contributing 14 points in 13 games. In a more positive development, defenceman Chris Tanev has been upgraded to day-to-day after recovering from an upper-body injury sustained on October 10. He participated in practice and may return as soon as Saturday against the Vancouver Canucks.
Other players on the injury report include Nick Blankenburg, John Tavares, and Marshall Rifai, all listed as week-to-week. Dakota Joshua, recalled from a conditioning loan, could make his season debut against the Kraken if his equipment arrives in time. The Maple Leafs are set to start Sergei Bobrovsky in goal for their upcoming game.
