Total World Chess Championship Tour Debuts in Budapest
The Total World Chess Championship Tour is set to launch in Budapest from November 10 to 21, featuring elite chess players, including World No. 1 Magnus Carlsen. This inaugural event will see participation from notable players such as Arjun Erigaisi and the Chennai siblings R. Praggnanandhaa and R. Vaishali.
The tournament will host 24 players, including Fabiano Caruana, Vincent Keymer, and Wesley So, promising a competitive atmosphere. The tour aims to enhance the already busy chess calendar, which has seen an increase in major events worldwide.
Next year, the full tour will commence with four legs in various global cities, combining classical, rapid, and blitz formats. The classical format in this tour is referred to as fast classical, with a time control of 45 minutes plus a 30-second increment per move, differing from traditional classical chess time controls.
