Toto Wolff Acknowledges Max Verstappen's Commitment to Red Bull Amid Mercedes Talks
Mercedes has confirmed contract extensions for drivers George Russell and Kimi Antonelli through 2027, while Red Bull has also secured Max Verstappen for the same period. Team principal Toto Wolff expressed that it may be several years before there is another opportunity to recruit the four-time champion.
Wolff has previously discussed the possibility of Verstappen joining Mercedes, especially when searching for a replacement for Lewis Hamilton. However, he now believes that the likelihood of such a move happening soon is low, particularly after the recent contract announcements.
Despite Verstappen's ongoing commitment to Red Bull, Wolff remains open to future possibilities, acknowledging that the dynamics of driver contracts may change in a few years. He noted that the current driver lineup at Mercedes provides a positive environment for both Russell and Antonelli.
