Trackhouse Racing Faces Decisions After Zilisch's Departure
Trackhouse Racing is preparing for significant changes as Connor Zilisch is set to leave the team after the 2027 NASCAR season to join Hendrick Motorsports on a multi-year contract starting in 2028.
Zilisch's departure raises questions for Trackhouse, particularly regarding the future structure of the team. Some, including Dale Earnhardt Jr., have suggested that Trackhouse might revert to a two-car operation, retaining Shane van Gisbergen and Ross Chastain while leasing out a third charter.
However, Trackhouse owner Justin Marks has dismissed the idea of downsizing, emphasizing that the team is committed to maintaining three cars. He noted that the team's sponsors support this structure and that downsizing would send a negative message. Marks expressed confidence in the team's current setup and the potential for growth with their sponsors.
