Trackhouse Racing Faces Future Changes After Connor Zilisch's Departure
Trackhouse Racing is preparing for adjustments in the coming years as Connor Zilisch is set to leave the team for Hendrick Motorsports at the end of the 2027 NASCAR season.
Although Zilisch will remain with Trackhouse for another year, the team faces uncertainty regarding its future strategy. Dale Earnhardt Jr. discussed the financial implications of maintaining multiple cars on his podcast, suggesting that downsizing to a two-car team could be a viable option.
Earnhardt noted that while having more cars can reduce costs per vehicle, the overall expense remains high. He recommended leasing a third charter instead of selling it, which could provide financial flexibility while allowing Trackhouse to maintain the option of expanding back to three cars in the future. Currently, Trackhouse owner Justin Marks aims to keep three cars operational, but the team has the option to reassess if necessary.
