Trade Interest Grows for Colts Running Back Jonathan Taylor
Several teams are expressing interest in acquiring Jonathan Taylor, the running back for the Indianapolis Colts, according to a report by Stephen Holder of ESPN. The Colts' stance on potentially trading players before the deadline is currently unclear.
The Colts recently dismissed General Manager Chris Ballard, with Ed Dodds stepping in as the interim G.M. There are also speculations regarding the future of head coach Shane Steichen, particularly if the team, currently with a 2-4 record, does not improve.
In the previous season, Taylor led the league with 323 carries, 18 touchdowns, and 84 first downs. This season, he has recorded 122 carries for 492 yards and seven touchdowns over six games. Taylor, a second-round draft pick in 2020, signed a three-year contract extension in August, making his average annual salary of $22 million one of the highest for his position.
