Tragic Fire at Canadian Military Base Claims Four Lives
A fire at Canadian Forces Base Wainwright in Alberta has led to the deaths of four military personnel and left dozens injured. The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon during high-intensity combat training, exacerbated by strong winds that caused the flames to spread rapidly.
Prime Minister Mark Carney addressed the nation, describing the event as a significant tragedy for the Canadian military. The deceased have been identified as Sgt Morgan Wong, Pte Shaun Farrell, Pte Aidan Goulding, and Pte Hayden Lykkemark. Of the 39 injured, at least 19 are reported to be in critical condition, according to Alberta Premier Danielle Smith.
