Trail Blazers Exercise Options on Clingan and Hansen
The Portland Trail Blazers have confirmed the exercise of rookie scale team options for centers Donovan Clingan and Yang Hansen for the 2027/28 season.
Donovan Clingan, who has been the starting center since February 2025, averaged 12.1 points and 11.6 rebounds per game last season. He is currently averaging 9.3 points and 9.0 rebounds in the early part of the season. Clingan's salary for this season is approximately $7.52 million, and he now has a guaranteed salary of $9.55 million for the 2027/28 season, making him eligible for a rookie scale extension next July.
Yang Hansen, the 16th pick in the 2025 draft, is in his second season and has played 43 games as a rookie, averaging 2.2 points and 1.5 rebounds. He will earn $4.64 million this season, with a guaranteed salary of $4.86 million for 2027/28. The Blazers will need to decide next year whether to exercise his option for the 2028/29 season.
