Travis Kelce Admits to Holding on Mahomes' Touchdown Run
During a recent game, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce admitted to committing a holding penalty on Broncos safety Talanoa Hufanga during Patrick Mahomes' 15-yard touchdown run. This play helped the Chiefs secure an early 7-0 lead in their eventual 31-10 win.
Kelce discussed the incident on his New Heights podcast, expressing relief that officials did not flag the play, which he described as questionable. He noted that the hold could have resulted in Mahomes' second rushing touchdown being called back in just two plays, potentially impacting the team's scoring opportunity.
The holding infraction was visible during the television broadcast, but officials on the field did not have a clear view, and such penalties are not subject to review. As a result, Kelce managed to avoid a penalty on the play.
