Trevon Diggs Joins Seattle Seahawks After Brief Stint with Packers
Cornerback Trevon Diggs has signed with the Seattle Seahawks after a brief tenure with the Green Bay Packers last season. The move comes as the Seahawks, the reigning Super Bowl champions, look to strengthen their secondary.
Diggs was claimed off waivers by the Packers late last season after being released by the Dallas Cowboys. He played a limited role, featuring in a meaningless Week 18 game against the Minnesota Vikings, where he did not allow any receptions. However, his playoff participation was minimal, logging only one snap against the Chicago Bears.
The Packers opted not to re-sign Diggs due to his high salary demands, which included $15.5 million in 2026 and escalating amounts in subsequent years. With Seattle in need of cornerback support, Diggs's addition is seen as beneficial, especially as they await the legal resolution of Terrion Arnold, another potential signing. The Seahawks are expected to start Devon Witherspoon and Josh Jobe at cornerback, while the Packers continue to evaluate their options for the upcoming season.
