Trey Smith Aims for Full Season Availability with Chiefs
Trey Smith, the right guard for the Kansas City Chiefs, has started 67 out of a possible 68 regular-season games during his first four years in the NFL. However, he missed five games last season due to back spasms and ankle injuries.
During the eighth practice of the current training camp, Smith experienced hip discomfort but returned to practice on August 24 and played in the Chiefs' preseason finale against the Seahawks. He expressed a strong desire to contribute to his team, emphasizing the importance of being available for his teammates.
Smith acknowledged that no player feels completely healthy throughout the season, but he aims to be fit enough to perform his duties consistently. He reflected on the responsibilities that come with being a professional athlete and the commitment he feels towards his team and coaches.
