Trey Yesavage Undergoes Knee Surgery, Status Uncertain

Blue Jays pitcher Trey Yesavage recently had surgery to address a meniscus injury in his left knee, as confirmed by manager John Schneider. The team has classified his recovery as week to week, leaving the door open for a potential return this season.

Yesavage was placed on the 15-day injured list last week due to what was initially described as inflammation. Further examinations revealed the meniscus issue, necessitating a minor surgical procedure that could impact his availability for the remainder of the season.

This marks the second time this year that the 23-year-old has been sidelined, having previously missed most of April due to shoulder inflammation. Despite some ups and downs, Yesavage has maintained a 3.65 ERA and a strikeout rate of 24% this season, although he faced challenges with walks and had a higher ERA in June and July.
