Trey Yesavage's Rehab Progressing, Possible Return Next Week
Trey Yesavage, a right-handed pitcher for the Toronto Blue Jays, is making progress in his rehabilitation from left knee inflammation and could return to the team as early as next week. He has been on the injured list since early August.
This morning, Yesavage completed a 30-pitch bullpen session at Rogers Centre and participated in light fielding drills. According to pitching coach Pete Walker, he performed well. Yesavage is scheduled to make a rehab start with Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday, and if all goes well, he might rejoin the Blue Jays on Sunday or Monday.
Yesavage has faced challenges this season, including two stints on the injured list. He began the year on the 15-day IL due to a right shoulder impingement, delaying his debut until April 28. Despite these setbacks, he has maintained a 3.65 ERA over 18 starts. The Blue Jays are currently in contention for a Wild Card spot, sitting just one game behind the Guardians.
