Trial Reveals Details of Missing Surfers' Search in Baja California

The trial for the men accused of murdering surfers Jake and Callum Robinson from Australia and American Jack Carter Rhoad commenced recently, revealing details about the search for the missing trio. The surfers were last seen in April 2024 during a camping trip in Ensenada, Mexico.

After Rhoad's wife lost contact with him on April 25, she reported him missing to the U.S. embassy on April 30, initiating a personal search. Utilizing the location feature on Rhoad's iPad, she guided friends and family to the campsite, where they discovered signs of a struggle, including burned belongings and bloodstains.

Clifton Rhoad, Rhoad's brother, joined the search after realizing his brother had not checked into an Airbnb. He recounted finding disturbing evidence at the campsite, including charred items and a bullet casing, which led to the involvement of a forensics team. Ultimately, the bodies of the surfers were located in a cliff-top shaft, showing signs of gunshot wounds.
