Triple Eight and Supercars Acknowledge Error Affecting Will Brown's Performance

Will Brown's performance in the Supercars series has been adversely affected by an undersized engine air restrictor supplied by Supercars to Triple Eight Race Engineering. The issue was identified by Triple Eight team principal Jamie Whincup, who stated that the restrictor was one millimeter smaller than the required specification.

The problem was discovered during preparations for the upcoming event in Ipswich, with the incorrect part having been fitted to Brown's car since the start of the season. Supercars confirmed that the restrictor was initially loaned for demonstration purposes but remained on the vehicle through the Perth Super 440 event.

Both organizations are reviewing the situation, with Supercars acknowledging the oversight and expressing appreciation for Triple Eight's prompt reporting of the issue. Despite this setback, Triple Eight plans to provide Brown with a new car for the next race at Queensland Raceway from August 21 to 23.
