Triston Casas of the Red Sox Undergoes Wrist Surgery

BOSTON — Triston Casas, the first baseman for the Boston Red Sox, recently had arthroscopic surgery on his left wrist, as announced by the team on Thursday. This procedure adds to a series of injuries that have placed him on the injured list.

Casas has been out of action since suffering a ruptured left patellar tendon while running to first base on May 2, 2025. Following his absence for the remainder of the previous season, he faced an abdominal strain during spring training, and the wrist issue arose as he was gradually returning to play.

The Red Sox have not provided a timeline for Casas' return. His injury troubles began in 2024 when he missed 99 games due to torn rib cartilage. Since 2023, the 26-year-old, who stands 6-foot-4, has participated in only 92 games and was a finalist for the American League Rookie of the Year award.
