Triston Casas Undergoes Wrist Surgery, Faces Extended Recovery

The Boston Red Sox announced that first baseman Triston Casas underwent left wrist arthroscopy, adding to his ongoing injury struggles. The team did not specify a recovery timeline, and Casas is currently on the 60-day injured list.

This surgery marks another setback in a series of injuries that have kept Casas off the field for over a year. He initially suffered a significant injury on May 2 of the previous year, which required season-ending surgery. After failing to recover in time for the current season, he faced additional issues, including a strained left intercostal muscle shortly after Opening Day.

Previously seen as a key player for the Red Sox, Casas has struggled to regain his form. The team acquired Willson Contreras to fill his position, complicating his return. Despite being under arbitration control through 2028, his future with the team remains uncertain as he focuses on recovery.
